2015 Morton Cup Tournament

Details of winners of main grades and perpetual trophies are:

 

Morton Cup Final was won by Garangula over Scone by 13-11.

Garangula: R.J. Curran, P.P. O’Dwyer, T.R. Hunt and S.F. Keyte.

In the Subsidiary-Final for the R.M. Pitt Memorial Cup Town & Country beat Stanbroke by 9-8.

Town & Country:  J.P. Bayard, K.B. Johnson, C.S. Wilson, and S.C.M. Hopkinson.

R.R. Ashton Trophy for Champion Pony was won by R.K. Archibald (Scone) with Pip.

F.L. Bragg Trophy for Champion Team of 3 ponies was won by P.P. O’Dwyer (Garangula) with Dracula, Forest and Cat.

B Grade 8 Goals Final saw Timor come from 2 goals down entering last chukka to defeat Warrah Creek by 8-6

The Morton Cup Open Grade has 4 teams of between 16-20 goals handicap.
Games are on Saturday 21 March at 1pm and 3pm and Finals on Sunday 22 March.
Venue: Windsor Polo Club - Clubhouse will be open for food and drinks.

The Morton Cup B Grade - 8 goal has 10 teams entered and features teams from all over NSW, Victoria & WA!
Games are on Wednesday 18, Thursday 19, Saturday 21 and finals on Sunday 22 March.
Venue: Windsor Polo Club - Clubhouse will be open for food and drinks.

Dear Players & Spectators,

Nominations for Morton Cup Open Grade & 8 goal
The Morton Cup Open Grade & 8 goal will be played on 21-22 March in the Hawkesbury. Please see Nomination Form attached.

Lower grades will be run by Windsor Polo Club - details to be released.

The Morton Cup is a warm up for many of the Dudley Cup teams.  Results from this tournament will be considered in the seeding for the Dudley Cup.

Location & Directions to Windsor Polo Club
The Windsor Polo Club Grounds are located west of Richmond in the Hawkesbury Valley of NSW, about one hour north-west of Sydney. This scenic region, at the foot of the Blue Mountains, is one of the oldest agricultural regions in NSW and a traditional centre of polo in the State.

To reach the grounds from Sydney, either:

•Leave the city via the M2 Motorway and Windsor Road. Turn left as you reach Windsor and drive to Richmond. At the turn to Kurrajong, continue along Windsor St and Old Kurrajong Road.

•Take the M7 Motorway to Blacktown and follow Richmond Road to Richmond. Turn right at Market St, Richmond and left into Windsor St and Old Kurrajong Road.
Entry to the Grounds is from Old Kurrajong Rd.
