Polo at the Royal Easter Show
NSW Polo Association
At the Sydney Royal Easter Show each year, polo is played. Held at Sydney Olympic Park, it is the closest to central Sydney to see polo being played. For more details of the Show, see
www.eastershow.com
3 a-side polo was first introduced at the Sydney Show in 1939 and has since then remained a feature of the Easter Show conducted by the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales. Many of the games are played under lights on the small showground allowing spectators to get close to the action. It has remained a highlight of each show and attracts big crowds. Until 1997 it was played at Moore Park and since 1998 at Homebush.
Trophy awarded at the Easter Show:
Polo Gold Cup Perpetual Trophy
- Awarded to the winning team competing in the Royal Easter Show Polo Teams Challenge.
