The Festival of Polo Welcome Drinks, Thursday 4 April


The 2024 Hawkesbury Festival of Polo officially kicks off this Thursday night with Welcome Drinks at The Royal Richmond Hotel from 6:30pm. And what a celebration of polo it will be!!

The Hawkesbury is alive with polo in the coming weeks.

The headline act is the ORD MInnett Polo International between Australian and India on Sunday 7 April. On that same day, the Australian women’s team play New Zealand and the best under 21 players in NSW will play against each other in matches not to be missed.

This week also sees the start of the Morton Cup with 6 teams, with handicaps up to 20 goals, in action across the next fortnight. The NSWPA 10 Goal Championship is also being held concurrently with the Morton Cup in what will be a fiercely-contested tournament.

There’s also the Annual NSWPA Women’s Championship at Muddy Flatts, being played on Wednesday and Thursday 3 & 4 April.

What a feast of polo!

All teams in all tournaments are gathering on Thursday night at The Royal Richmond Hotel for a launch party. The highlight of the night will be the shirt presentation for the competing national teams. Master of Ceremonies, Glen Gilmore will interview the captains of each team and introduce all the players.

A reminder that the ORD MInnett Polo International is a ticketed event. Entry is only available a with ticket, which can be purchased HERE

Players on that day, horse lenders and grooms will have special ticketing arrangements, contact the NSW Polo Association Office - nsw@australianpolo.com.au  

If you don’t have a ticket on the day, a gate official will direct you to purcahse one online, on the day before entering.
