Scone Polo Club are once again hosting the annual Dougal Archibald Cup Long Lunch on Saturday 23rd September.
The ticket price includes entry into the marquee, canapes, lunch, afternoon tea/dessert, plus alcohol (all catering by The Hunted Gourmet). Tickets are $190 each, but we are offering a 10% discount for a full table purchase.
It is a wonderful opportunity to get together a table of friends and enjoy the spring weather along with the terrific action on the field.

SCONE POLO CLUB SPRING NEWS 2017
Dear Members and Friends of the Scone Polo Club
There is a very exciting season of polo ahead for players, members and friends of the Scone Polo Club, particularly in the lead up to the World Cup Polo being held at Windsor on 21-22 October and 28-29 October, 2017.
The 126th Donald Macintyre Cup will be contested on the 9and 10September 2017. Five grades of matches, twenty teams, their players and ponies to admire, full bar facilities, lunches and afternoon teas.
23 & 24 September will see the Dougal Archibald Cup played. 23 September the 2017 Dougal Archibald Long Lunch makes its return under a marquis ($165 members - $185 non members) – All fun included – stay tuned. Car Parks will also be for sale accompanied by a table , chairs and bottle of champagne. Potentially three grades of matches will be played over the weekend with full bar facilities and food available. This is the first weekend of the school holidays.
The Scone Junior Polo School will be held over three days from Tuesday 26 September with much learning and fun to be enjoyed by up to eighty children.
The Wootton Cup falls on 7 & 8 October, the last weekend of the school holidays.
A new trophy – The Beersheba Cup has been given to the Scone Polo Club by Barry and Andrea Moule and their family. In 2017 The Beersheba Cup will be contested on 14 & 15 October.. “One hundred years ago on the 31st of October, the 4th Light Horse Brigade conducted a mounted infantry charge with bayonets in their hands, their only weapon for mounted attack, as their rifles were slung across their backs. While part of the two regiments dismounted to attack entrenchments on Tel es Saba defending Beersheba, the remainder of the light horsemen continued their charge into the town, capturing the place and part of the garrison as it was withdrawing.”
