Report & Results: Folly Lodge Spring Tournament, 24 & 25 September 2005

Report from Sam Ballas, Folly Lodge President: 8 teams participated at 2 levels of competition playing for the Sinclair Hill “Blue Bag Trophy (6 Goal) and the Guards Trophy (2 Goal)

The Blue Bag Trophy was won by Pentacle Property who defeated Folly Lodge by 8 goals to 6

Marshall Investments and Sydney Polo & Country Club played off for 3rd and 4th with the Marshall Investments team winning 6 goals to 5.

The Guards Trophy was won by Folly Lodge Polo Club who defeated Killarny Polo 4 goals to 2

Gundalong Polo Club defeated The Fockers, 6 goals to 1 in the 3rd and 4th placings.

The tournament had large local community support with over 600 onlookers. Sinclair Hill and his wife Wendy were in attendance at the final and giving the player praise for the high standard of play.

Also in attendance were Peta Seaton, local Member and NSW State Governor, Shadow Treasurer and Nick Campbell-Jones, Deputy Mayor for the Southern Highlands Municipality who presented the player trophies.

A dinner dance was on Saturday night was well attended by both the public and the players and grooms.

The weekend was a great success and provided great weather and entertaining Polo.




Folly Lodge Polo Club is hosting a 6 & 2 goal tournament on Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 September. The Club is on Tourist Road, Glenquarry, near Bowral in the Southern Highlands, & action is from 10am. Spectators are welcome.

Drinks and lunch are available each day and a function will be held at Glenquarry Hall on Tourist Drive on the Satrurday evening including drinks and a band at a cost of $30 per head. A bar is available.
