SCONE DOUGAL ARCHIBALD CUP 19 & 20 SEPT - RESULTS

RESULTS DOUGAL ARCHIBALD CUP

Scone Polo Club conducted the Dougal Archibald Cup on the 19th and 20th September in beautiful spring weather.  The club hosted 14 teams in 4 grades on fields that looked a picture and played true. Teams came from the local area and over the range to the north. Teams from over the range included Tamarang, Quirindi and Warrah Creek. Locally teams came from Scone, Branch Creek, Ellerston and Jerry's Plains.

Rain fell on Saturday night causing the cancellation of Sunday's polo except for the A grade final between Sledmere and Tamarang. In a hard fought game Sledmere came out victors winning 7-4 in the 5 Chukka final. Congratulations to Treen Murphy, Royston Murphy, James Lester and Jock Mackay on winning the Dougal Archibald Cup.

Best pony in the final went to James Lester's Homer.

The Godolphin prize for the best thoroughbred off the race track went to Angus Scott's Hannah.

The most valuable player went to James Lester.

This weekend is the Beersheba Trophy which will wrap up the spring season for 2020.
