Thank you message from Adrian Bonham, St John's Ambulance
29 MAY 2011

Hi Folks
Last Friday night (19/5/11) I suffered a heart attack while I was at work. I was taken to Hawkesbury Hospital, but transferred to Westmead soon after. They placed a stint in my heart to open up the blockage. The operation was a success. At one stage my blood pressure was 194/120, this could have been fatal. They also found out I am borderline Diabetes (no more sugar or salt).
I spent the next 3 days in hospital recovering. I will not mention what the food was like except I would prefer to have been eating Luis’ Steak Roll. They ran some tests Monday and found I had lost only 10% of my heart function. This is almost unheard of. Most people lose 20%+. So I am one very lucky boy.
I’ll be off work for at least 2-4 weeks. So money is going to be tight for a while. But I will be able to return to work. I will also be able to provide First Aid for my friends at the Polo. The Doctors recommend that I do a bit of fishing in a few weeks time (anyone want to join me?)
I would like to thank the Polo Community for your wonderful support during this time. I had a large number of e-mails and phone calls from the Polo Community asking how I was. I am deeply grateful for all friends in the Polo Family.
Congratulations to all the winners on Sunday, I only wish I could have been there. I would like to thank Ian McDuie for allowing me to put this newsletter on the web site.
See you all in the Spring.
