Quirindi Tournament Results
Our tournament went very well over the weekend and without any incidents. We’re very pleased to have been able to hold a low key but successful annual carnival in such dry and trying times and we would like to thank all the players, grooms, friends and spectators that came to support us.
The results were as follows:
- B Grade (0 Goal) – Robert Simson Cup. Final was Quirind B vs Tamarang B and was won by Quirindi B. Team consisted of A Campbell, C Wilson, W Simson and S McCreery
- A Grade (4 goal) – Eric Cadell Cup – Final was Wirragulla vs Tamarang and was won by Tamarang. Team consisted of S Chambers, B McMurtrie, J Henry and A Scott.
- Club Pony – won by Angus Scott’s mare, “Hannah”
- B Grade Pony – won by Amber Gibb’s gelding, “Doug”
- A Grade Pony – won by Andre Parrott’s mare, “Giggle”
- Team of Ponies – won by Jock Mackay.

‘Tournament Rules’
The Teams and draw for the tournament this weekend can be seen here.
‘A Grade will be played over 5 Chukkas. ‘B’ Grade will be played over 4 Chukkas.
Due to the low handicap rating of the ‘A’ Grade, the Northern Challenge Champion Cup will not be contended. In its place, will be the Eric Cadell Cup.
The Robert Simson Cup will be contended for in the B Grade.
Beware at all times of horses and polo balls
Entry to the ground is at your own risk. Parking on the grounds is at your own risk.
No unauthorized vehicles are allowed on the playing surface or within the safety zone.
Dogs must be on a lead at all times.
All spectators are to remain ten (10) metres from the sideline.
Helmets are to be worn by all riders, including grooms.
Alcohol consumption by umpires and goal umpires is not permitted.
Chukka Fees are $60 per player for the weekend. Those that are playing twice only pay this once.

On behalf of the President and the Committee of the Quirindi Polo Carnival Club, it is our pleasure to invite your Club to nominate teams and/or individual players to play at our annual polo tournament to be held on the 31st August & 1st of September 2019.
As you would be aware the dry conditions are continuing in the north west, affecting not only our local area but the rest of the state. We are pleased to announce we have a suitable playing surface this year not only for horses but riders also. We have been playing chukkas and the field has stood up quite well.
We thank those players in advance who will be able to join us for this year’s tournament.
