Next weekend Windsor Polo Club, with the generous support of Sanderson Motor Group, is staging its first Skins Tournament. The finals will be played out on Sunday 10 April.

This event promises to be one of the most exciting ever staged at Windsor. It will be a fight to the finish ¡V with some top order teams ready to go! They are:

Richmond, Aspen, Adelaide and Windsor.

Australia¡¦s two best players will be taking part¡K.
Ruki Baillieu on 8 goals. Ruki is Australia¡¦s highest rated player and a true magician on the field.
Glen Gilmore on 7 goals. Glen is Australia¡¦s Test Captain. He is a master tactician and he steered his team to a well-earned victory in the International Test against New Zealand last weekend.

We also have the New Zealand Test captain, Cody Forsythe on 7 goals who masterfully kept the Aussie team on their mettle throughout the entire game.

Patrons are: Martin Wooten - Aspen Polo; Peter Higgins - Richmond, Nick Simpson and The Maclachlan brothers from Adelaide and will enhance the level of competition as their teams battle to be the first ever winner of this major event.

SKINS PROGRAM:
Day 1, Thursday 7 April, Field Windsor # 1, Game 1 - 12:30pm, Game 2 ¡V 3:00pm

Day 2, Saturday 9 April, Field: Muddy Flats, Game 1 ¡V 11:00am, Game 2 ¡V 1:00pm

DAY 3 - FINALS, Sunday 10 April, Field: Windsor # 1, Subsidiary: 11:00am, FINAL: 1:00pm

HOW DOES THE SKIN WORK?
For the uninitiated, the WPC Skins tournament will run like this:

„X A ¡¥Skin¡¦ is a cheque/prize money.
„X Total prize money for the event will be $6,000.
„X The game will be played over 6 chukkas.
„X A Skin of $1,000 will be awarded to the winning team of each chukka at the end of the chukka.
„X If in any chukka there is a tie or no score, the Skin will carry over to the next chukka and will be worth $2,000 ¡V and so on.

Overseas, Skins tournaments generate enormous interest. They have become one of the most popular and well supported events on the polo calendar. Perhaps the most high profile US Skins tournament is held at Eldorado Polo Club, Palm Springs. The event features Barbara Sinatra and the Eisenhower Facility ¡V and the patrons that support it year after year say it is the one annual tournament they would absolutely never miss!
