The Polo NSW Under 21 team departed for Christchurch this morning. The 5goal side features:

  • Piper Trickett (0)
  • James Parry-Okeden (1)
  • Lucas Grimes (1)
  • Cody Grimes (3)

The team will be captained by Cody, coached by Australian representative player Alec White, and managed by polo great Jim Gilmore.

They are set to face the South Island team on Thursday, 11 December at 3pm at Glenmark Polo Club, Omihi. Their opponents will be:

  • Max Dormer (1)
  • James Reid (1)
  • Finlay Blackwell (1)
  • Tom Turner (2)

While in New Zealand, Alec and Jim will also lead a Thoroughbred Clinic with both teams. The clinic will include retraining off-the-track thoroughbreds into polo ponies, horse welfare and management, as well as goal setting for retraining thoroughbreds.

The team will spend several days playing practice chukkas and trying horses in preparation for Thursday’s match.

We wish both teams the very best of luck as they battle for victory and showcase their remarkable talent on the international stage.
