2026 Los Machitos Polo Internship – Applications Now Open!

Young Australian polo players are invited to apply for the prestigious 2026 Los Machitos Internship.

About the Internship

Successful applicant(s) will spend up to six weeks at the renowned Los Machitos polo property in Pilar, Argentina, under the guidance of Mariano Aguirre and Nick Manifold. This immersive experience offers a rare opportunity to live and work at one of the world’s most successful polo operations.

What You’ll Do
Intern(s) will be involved in all aspects of daily life at Los Machitos, including:

• Playing chukkas and schooling horses
• Feeding and stable management
• Pre- and post-game preparation
• Young horse education

Location Highlights

Located in the heart of the Pilar region, Los Machitos is surrounded by Argentina’s most iconic polo properties. Intern(s) will have the chance to visit these venues, meet high-goal players, and observe elite polo operations in action. Los Machitos is only 60 minutes from the heart of Buenos Aires.

Timing & Support

• Internship dates: May – June 2026
• Airfares and accommodation provided
• Intern(s) will need to finance their living costs; food, laundry, walking-around money etc

Eligibility & Requirements

• Ability to travel in May and June 2026
• A current driver’s license is essential
• Passport
• Applicants must be aged between 18 and 25
• Demonstrated ability to live, work, and travel independently
• Prior international solo travel is an advantage (not essential)
• Strong riding skills and experience with young horses are required
• Basic Spanish is helpful; a willingness to learn is essential
